Augusta, Bangor and Portland have each sent eight residents to serve as governor. Lewiston has sent four. Bath, Brunswick and Waterville have each sent three, while the towns sending two are Belfast, Hallowell, Paris, Poland, Readfield and Waldoboro. The northernmost town to have supplied a governor is Fort Fairfield; the southernmost, Saco.
