August 28, 1998 It seems that we're going to be spared the wrath of Hurricane Bonnie, which is good - considering the damage that this week's thunderstorms have done. Monday and Tuesday saw Southern Maine hit with rounds of fast moving and powerful thunderstorms. After the storm Monday, approximately 40,000 homes and businesses lost power - 30,000 of those in Portland and one of them, for a short while, was Time Warner Cable. Michael Leonard, a member of Time Warner's video production crew, was able to get some nice pictures of the storm from Falmouth and has allowed us to present them here. The recent shots were taken in Falmouth, Maine at the Town landing off of Route 88 during the fierce storm that rolled through Monday Night August 24th.
