Southwest Harbor, on Mount Desert Island, is pretty quiet this time of year.  The tourists and summer residents have left the Island to the year-round inhabitants. The boats left in the harbor are working boats.  In the summer, the harbor will be thick with sailboat masts.  Over to the left is Beal's Wharf, where fishermen sell their catches.  This is the old town dock on Clark Point.   It's one of three municipal docks in Southwest Harbor.  Once, steamships stopped at these docks. Today it's home to a large Coast Guard base, just a couple of hundred feet away from where we stood to make this image.
